Osmocote® PotShots

Osmocote® is a unique kind of plant food. It consists of homogeneous granules finished with a proprietary slow-release coating delivered from soybean oil. This coating ensures that the plant’s food supply is carefully administered. Plant food nuggets of nutrition are crafted using a water-based adhesive to bind the granules together. The Osmocote® Potshots™ plant food nuggets deliver a pre-measured blend of essential nutrients that are specially formulated for container grown plants.

How does Osmocote®Plant Food work?

Each granule consists of a homogenous nutrient prill coated with a semi-permeable resin derived from linseed oil.

Moisture in the soil penetrates the coating and dissolves the nutrients in the granule.

Using the natural principle of osmosis, nutrients are released at the same rate the plant’s root system takes-up nutrients.

How to apply Osmocote®PotShots

1

Know Your Container’s Volume

Do you know your container’s volume in quarts or gallons? If not, just measure its width at the widest point. Then, use the chart in the “suggested application rates” section to determine how many Osmocote® Potshots™ you’ll need.

2

Easy To Apply

Once you’ve determined how many PotShots™ you’ll need, it’s a breeze to apply. Just position nugget(s) half-way between container’s edge and the plant’s stem. Then push 1-3 inches deep into the soil.

3

For Best Results

Be sure to follow the watering instructions for your specific plant. After the nutrients are released (approx. 6 months after application), discard the empty shells and reapply.
